Summer's on it's way - yay! Time to get the ATV ready to go

I went out today and took measurements of the back rack on my ATV so that I can better design the rack I want to build for it. Snow's getting lower each day, so time to start getting ready for the summer. Finally!

I was disappointed to discover that the cover my brother had given me last fall has a few tears in it from the load of snow that had built up on it over the winter. The left brake handle punched through the cover and there is a tear by the fuel tank. ::pouts:: Ah well, I plan to have the ATV in its own nice little shed by the time next winter hits anyway.

My brother was in here earlier getting on me about not having rode the ATV much since I got it. He's right, I haven't put a lot of miles on it yet, but I really don't care for riding out there at -20 Fahrenheit. Not when I don't have a proper snowsuit, and not when I am riding alone 90% of the time. I'll wait for summer to get back around and then go exploring on it again, tyvm.

ATV Cam - coming soon

I went out to eBay and picked me up a nice looking little Aiptek DV3100. Yes, I know it is an older model and not exactly great for low light conditions, but I plan to strap that little darling to my ATV and go cruising around the trails. hehehe Couple more months here I can be flying up the side of Hatcher Pass (well, okay, the flying is my brother's department - I'm sure he'll borrow it as a second camera when paragliding though), anyway, I'll be zipping up the side of Hatcher Pass videotaping some of the lovely Alaskan scenery to share here and on YouTube (get something there other than mooses).

So, stay tuned and I'll get more details on the ATV Cam when it gets here, then start prepping it for a life of high adventure (really hi if my bro takes it up ::shakes head:: )

It's been a while since I updated...

but it's also been about -20 F here and that is not exactly good conditions for ATVing in Alaska. lol

The Chinook winds came though the other day and took out a bunch of the snow, so spring is on the way, it's just taking its own sweet time about it.

Nice and sunny out there right now, so that means it is once again *COLD*. I'd like for the sunny days to mean warmth for once, it would be a nice change of pace.

Anyway, things are melting, even with the cold, so I should be able to get out and ride before too much longer. Then this will be more updated.
